Upon hearing that I was not a finalist for the World Yoyo Contest I thought I would make the video public so that I could still contribute to the world of yoyo. If you would like to see my AP video click the link below.
I began work on my performance one year ago upon seeing the 2023 World Yoyo Contest videos. I really wanted to show through my performance that yoyo is not just a toy but a medium for art. My performance is not fancy and from a yoyoer standpoint not technically hard. It’s simple, not fancy, trying to convey something beautiful. The music featured in the video is by NF. NF makes thought provoking music that is raw. My yoyo freestyle to “RUNNING” is an attempt to strip down yoyo to its raw characteristics.
